Inbound Leads
Inbound leads are prospects who reach out to you first. through a DM, a comment, a form fill, or a booked call. without any direct outreach on your part.
Inbound leads are the product of content that builds enough visibility and trust that ICP-fit prospects initiate contact. On LinkedIn, inbound looks like: DMs that say "I've been following your content," comment threads where a prospect asks for more info, profile visitors who book a call via the Featured section, or opt-ins from lead magnets that prompted by a post.
The difference between inbound and outbound conversion math is substantial. Inbound leads who've read your content for weeks close at 30–50% vs. 5–15% for outbound cold. Inbound sales cycles are 40–60% shorter. The trust-building work that outbound does in the first 3 calls has already been done by the content.
The implication: investing in consistent, high-quality LinkedIn content is investment in inbound pipeline quality. Each post is a top-of-funnel seed. The founders who post for 12–18 months before seeing significant inbound are usually the ones who see it compound hardest in months 18–36.
