Personal Brand
On LinkedIn, a personal brand is the public reputation a professional builds through consistent content, point of view, and audience relationships.
A personal brand on LinkedIn is the perception a professional creates in the minds of their audience through what they post, who they engage with, and how they show up. Unlike a corporate brand, it's tied to a specific person and travels with them across companies.
The strongest personal brands on LinkedIn share four traits: a narrow, defensible point of view (one or two opinions repeated consistently); a recognizable visual and voice signature; a specific ICP they speak to; and a track record of receipts (case studies, results, named clients).
The mistake most early creators make is breadth. Posting about leadership, productivity, AI, and life advice in the same week dilutes the brand. Successful B2B personal brands narrow ruthlessly. one industry, one ICP, one or two positions. and trade reach for relevance. Reach without relevance generates likes; relevance generates pipeline.
