Reach

Reach is the total number of unique accounts that saw a LinkedIn post at least once - distinct from impressions, which count repeated views by the same person.

Reach and impressions are often conflated but measure different things. Reach counts unique viewers (one person = one reach unit, regardless of how many times they saw the post). Impressions count total views, so one person viewing a post 3 times generates 3 impressions but 1 unit of reach.

For content strategy purposes, reach is the more meaningful metric: it tells you how many distinct people your message actually reached, which is what matters for brand building, lead generation, and audience growth. A post with 50,000 impressions but 10,000 reach means the average viewer saw it 5 times - possible for a viral post, but also possible for a post in a small network with heavy recirculation.

LinkedIn's analytics panel shows both metrics. The reach figure is available in LinkedIn Creator analytics and in many third-party tools. The ratio of reach to impressions is a crude virality signal - a high impressions:reach ratio suggests the content is being reshared or viewed multiple times by the same people.
