Social Proof
Social proof is evidence that others have found value in a product, service, or idea. testimonials, named clients, logos, results, and before/after data.
Social proof is the mechanism by which uncertain buyers reduce risk: if other people. especially people like me. have already done this and benefited, the probability that I'll benefit is higher. On LinkedIn, social proof is embedded in personal brand content as much as in explicit testimonials.
The five formats that work: named client testimonials with specific numbers ("client went from 2K to 28K followers in 4 months"), before/after case studies, named client logos, results posts ("here's the pipeline we generated last quarter"), and social media screenshots of responses (DMs from followers who implemented your advice).
The mistake: generic proof. "Clients love us" is not social proof. "This B2B SaaS founder used this framework and closed $340K in 60 days. here's the exact breakdown" is social proof. The more specific and verifiable the claim, the stronger the proof.
