Content Audit

A content audit is a systematic review of a creator's or client's existing LinkedIn posts - analyzing what performed well, what flopped, and identifying patterns that should inform the future content strategy.

A content audit for LinkedIn typically examines the last 90–180 days of posts and answers: Which post types generated the most impressions? Which generated the most DMs or profile views? Which topics drove comments versus just reactions? Are there patterns in the hooks of the best-performing posts? Is there a correlation between posting time and performance?

The audit deliverable is a set of strategic recommendations: double down on X format because it generates Y% more impressions, shift away from Z topic because it generates reactions but no DM activity, change posting time to maximize the early engagement window.

For onboarding new ghostwriting clients, a content audit of their last 6 months of posts is one of the most valuable early activities. It surfaces their implicit content strengths and weaknesses before the ghostwriter has to guess, and gives the client a concrete baseline against which to measure future improvement.
