Content Velocity
Content velocity is the rate at which a creator or team produces and publishes content, measured in posts per week or pieces per month.
Content velocity is the throughput metric of a content operation. A founder posting 5× per week has higher velocity than one posting 2×. A team producing 3 carousels, 8 text posts, and 1 newsletter per week has higher velocity than a team producing 4 text posts.
Velocity matters because compounding effects on LinkedIn are non-linear. Creators with high velocity build their audience faster, generate more data to learn from, and occupy more surface area in their niche's feed. The top 10% of LinkedIn B2B creators by follower count almost all post 4–5× per week or more.
The velocity trap: many creators see high-velocity creators succeeding and try to match volume without quality, producing generic filler that trains the algorithm to under-distribute their content. The right target is the maximum velocity at which quality can be maintained. For most solo founders, that's 3–4 posts/week. For teams with a ghostwriter and strategist, 5–7 posts/week is sustainable.
