Conversion Rate
Conversion rate is the percentage of people who take a desired action. opting in, booking a call, or buying. out of the total who had the opportunity.
Conversion rate is measured at every stage of a funnel. Post-to-lead-magnet conversion rate = leads ÷ post clicks × 100. Lead-to-call conversion rate = booked calls ÷ leads × 100. Call-to-close rate = closed deals ÷ discovery calls × 100. Each conversion rate is a separate diagnostic lever.
Benchmarks for LinkedIn-driven funnels: post click-to-opt-in 15–30% (for a well-matched lead magnet), opt-in-to-call 5–15% (depends heavily on lead magnet to offer alignment), and call-to-close 15–35% (depends on lead qualification quality and offer fit).
The highest-leverage conversion rate to fix first is almost always the one with the biggest volume. If 500 people see your lead magnet post and 50 click but only 4 opt in, that 8% opt-in conversion is the bottleneck. not the call-to-close rate.
