POV Post

A POV (point of view) post is a LinkedIn content format where the author takes a clear, defensible position on a topic relevant to their ICP - prioritizing a specific stance over comprehensive balance.

A POV post is the opposite of a "both sides" take. It commits to a single perspective, states it clearly in the hook, and then argues for it with evidence, logic, or lived experience. The format performs well because LinkedIn's algorithm rewards engagement velocity, and a clear opinion generates faster comments - both agreement and disagreement - than a balanced summary.

The anatomy of a strong POV post: hook that names the position clearly (not "I think X might be worth considering" but "X is wrong"), 3–5 supporting points that are specific and verifiable, and a closing that reinforces the position without hedging. The ICP test: a B2B founder who reads your POV post should either strongly agree or have a strong counterargument - if they feel neutral, the position wasn't sharp enough.

POV posts are high-risk/high-reward: they build strong authority signal for people who agree, but alienate those who don't. In a niche-focused content strategy, that's acceptable - you're optimizing for depth of resonance with a narrow ICP, not broad reach.
