Carousel Post
A carousel post on LinkedIn is a multi-slide PDF document uploaded to a post, designed to be swiped through page by page.
A LinkedIn carousel is a PDF (technically called a "document post") that displays as a swipeable multi-slide deck in feed. Carousels are one of the highest-engagement formats on LinkedIn because they reward dwell time. the algorithm sees the user spending 30+ seconds on the post and pushes it wider.
Carousels work best for frameworks, step-by-step content, and visual storytelling. The rules that matter: hook on slide 1 (text + visual must compel the swipe), one core idea per slide (not paragraphs), strong design consistency, and a clear CTA on the last slide. 8–12 slides is the sweet spot. fewer feels thin, more loses retention.
The trade-off: carousels take 5–10× longer to make than text posts and require basic design competence. Most creators who try carousels stop after a few because the production cost is real. The ones who keep going usually end up with a higher engagement floor and more shares per post than they get on text.
