LinkedIn SSI Score Benchmarks by Role
Recruiters carry the highest average SSI at 60, followed by account executives at 56 and sales reps at 55. Founders average 42 and marketing managers 38, against a platform-wide average of 32. The gap is mostly search and messaging volume, which two of the four SSI pillars measure directly.

Compiled from aggregated self-reported scores. LinkedIn does not publish official global SSI percentiles, so no row here is a LinkedIn-stated number.
Where each role's points come from, typical pillar split
| Role | Brand | Total |
|---|---|---|
| Recruiter | 12 | 60 |
| Sales rep (B2B) | 12 | 55 |
| Founder / CEO | 12 | 42 |
| Marketing manager | 11 | 38 |
| LinkedIn average | 8 | 32 |
Each pillar is scored 0 to 25 and the four sum to the total, as described on Creator's main SSI page. Compiled splits. Note the pattern: the Brand pillar barely separates a founder from a recruiter. Search and messaging volume does almost all of the work in the gap.

Reading your score against your role
A founder at 42 is average. A sales rep at 42 is behind.
The same number means different things by role, because two of the four pillars measure prospecting activity that founders do not do daily. Compare against your role row, then against your own last quarter.
Content-led roles cap out lower and it does not matter
Founders and marketers can max the Brand pillar at 25 and still land near 55, because they run few searches and send few messages. Pipeline from inbound does not show up in SSI at all.
What Creator can actually measure is the output, not the score
SSI is a LinkedIn-side number with no public dataset behind it. What Creator can compute is what content earns: a median of 34 reactions and comments per post across 67,569 posts and 433 accounts, rising to 54.5 among accounts that have published 120 or more posts.
Job seekers should ignore SSI entirely
The score rewards prospecting behaviour that has nothing to do with getting hired. A job seeker at 28 with three strong posts and forty warm conversations is doing better than one at 55 who searched a lot.
Frequently asked questions
Which roles have the highest LinkedIn SSI scores?
Recruiters lead at an average of 60, then account executives at 56 and sales reps at 55. Founders average 42, marketing managers 38 and software engineers 24, against a platform-wide average of 32. Recruiters and sellers score high because two of the four SSI pillars measure search volume and messaging volume, which is their daily work.
What SSI score should a founder aim for?
60 or above puts a founder in good standing and 70 or above puts them in the top quartile, against a founder average of 42. Getting there usually means adding search and connection activity rather than more content, because most active founders have already taken the Brand pillar close to its ceiling of 25.
Why is my SSI lower than a sales rep's when I post more than they do?
Because posting only feeds one of the four pillars. Establish your professional brand is worth a maximum of 25 points. Find the right people and Build relationships are worth another 50 between them, and they measure searches run, connections accepted and messages answered. A prolific poster who never searches gives up half the scoreboard.
Does SSI compare me against my network or against everyone?
LinkedIn shows two separate ranks on the SSI page: your rank within your industry and your rank within your own network. Neither one is your score. The 0 to 100 score is absolute and built from the four pillars, so it can rise while your network rank falls if the people around you are getting more active than you are.
Is a 50 SSI score bad?
It depends on the role. Fifty is well above the platform average of 32 and clears the good threshold of 50 for an operator or a generalist. For a B2B sales rep, whose average is 55 and whose good threshold is 70, fifty means the prospecting pillars are underused. Read the number against your role row, not against 100.
Methodology
Role-level SSI figures are compiled from aggregated self-reported scores across Creator's user base plus published role-level reporting. LinkedIn does not publish official global SSI percentiles, so no figure here is a LinkedIn-stated number.
Rows that also appear on Creator's main SSI benchmarks page carry identical values by design, so both pages give one answer to the same question. Roles new to this page are compiled and marked as such in the table footnote.
Pillar splits sum to the stated total and follow the four-pillar structure LinkedIn describes: Establish your professional brand, Find the right people, Engage with insights, Build relationships, each scored 0 to 25.
The engagement figures quoted in the commentary are computed, not compiled: benchmark_within_sender('reactions_plus_comments') against Creator's production LinkedInPost table on 2026-09-09, 67,569 posts across 433 accounts, and 55,941 posts across 260 accounts for the 120-post cohort.
Compiled role benchmarks: aggregated Creator user survey data plus published LinkedIn Sales Solutions SSI documentation and social selling reporting. Computed engagement figures: Creator LinkedInPost dataset via benchmark_within_sender(), 2026-09-09.
