The challenge

The consultant had been posting consistently on LinkedIn for 8 months with reasonable reach (5,000–12,000 impressions per post) but almost no downstream conversion. Followers were growing but pipeline was not. The engagement was there; the mechanism to capture it wasn't.

The approach

The insight was simple: the consultant had built an audience but hadn't given them a way to opt in. Creator built a lead magnet around the consultant's most-asked question. a specific framework they referenced frequently in posts. and designed a 3-post launch sequence to capture the existing engaged audience. The opt-in page was one field (email), one headline, three bullets.

What happened

The 3-post launch sequence

Post 1 (Day 1): A problem-framing post describing the exact situation the lead magnet solves. No CTA, no mention of the guide. just a post that resonated strongly with the ICP. Engagement: 8,400 impressions, 220 reactions, 44 comments. Post 2 (Day 4): The lead magnet launch. Hook: '44 people asked about the framework from Tuesday's post. So I wrote it up. Here it is.' CTA: link in comments. 290 opt-ins in 48 hours. Post 3 (Day 9): Social proof. '290 downloads in 5 days. Here's the single piece of feedback I've heard most.' Drove 50 more downloads.

The opt-in page that converted at 28%

Three things made the opt-in page convert above average: (1) The headline matched the exact language from the launch post. no disconnect between post promise and landing page promise. (2) Three specific, concrete bullets instead of vague benefit claims. (3) One form field only (email), no name, no phone, no company. The download button said 'Send me the framework' not 'Download.' Conversion rate: 28% of post-link clicks to confirmed email.

From email list to discovery calls

A 5-email follow-up sequence ran over 14 days after opt-in. Email 1 (Day 0): Delivery. Email 2 (Day 2): One specific tip from the framework with an example. Email 3 (Day 5): A case study of someone applying the framework. Email 4 (Day 9): An honest summary of where the framework doesn't work. which built trust. Email 5 (Day 14): A soft CTA to book a call if they wanted help applying it. 18 booked, 14 attended, 4 closed.

I'd been building an audience for 8 months without knowing how to monetize it. The lead magnet was the missing piece. One launch, 340 leads, 4 new clients.
